My husband and I were unaware of the ugly truth about pet shops, puppy mills & illegal breeders before we got our baby from ANJ Furkids, a pet shop located in Subang. They claimed that they are animal lovers and always strive for quality as well as the heath of their puppies on their website. They even provide health guarantee to ensure that the puppy they sell is in good health.

First thing we noticed when we entered their shop: It smelled really bad with no proper ventilation. They kept their pets in a room behind their shop.

The shop owner explained to us about their one-week health guarantee and asked us to sign an agreement with some tips on how to take care of a puppy. They even recommended us to bring our pup to a clinic that they work with. And so we did. The vet happily announced that our pup was safe and healthy WHICH WAS CLEARLY A LIE!

Our baby was energetic and lovely, apart from being a little thinner than other pups of the same breed. We noticed that her stool was always soft and since she is our first pet, we had no idea that something was wrong. One week later, she had diarrhea and vomited and became very weak to the extent that we had to rush her to a vet. She couldn’t even walk. She was hospitalized for one night and the doctor told us that she had parasites. She was put on antibiotics.

A week later, her symptoms got worse. She was literally dying. So we sent her to another vet and they found out that she had coccidia, a parasitic disease. She was hospitalized for three days under IV drips and was put on medication for 2 weeks.

We did some research online and found out about the unscrupulous operations of some pet shops where they obtained their puppies from illegal puppy mills. Our puppy has a compromised immune system and she had lots of worms. To make things worse, just a few weeks ago, another problem surfaced: demodectic mange. She started to have a bald spot on her head, followed by her under eye area and now it has spread to her front left leg. We brought her to our vet and she told us that it is a genetic issue, and responsible puppy breeders are not supposed to breed dogs with demodectic mange! We were told to bring her for follow-up to determine if her mange is going to stay for long!

OUR CONCLUSION: PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM ANJ FURKIDS! THEY ARE DEFINITELY NOT A LEGITIMATE PET SHOP AND THEY SHOULD NOT EVEN BE SELLING PETS!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $2000.

No pet shop is legit, no matter how nice it might look.My advice is to print flyers, and hand them to EVERYONE regarding pet stores, puppy/kitty Mills, and back yard breeders.

Research rescues and reputable breeders. Most breeders arent worth ***, and are considered back yard breeders.

Good breeders are registered with their local chapter of their breed club AND AKC or UKC.The other kennel clubs in the US are crappy.

We had an experience of spamming on our facebook page around 1 am by the following member; elicia tang with the same complaints that she has filed here.

We have verified her that she is not a client of ours based on our records.

We also found out that this person has been spamming on our youtube channel as well as putting up as same complaint report on another website:

All this happened within one hour time and with different username; Elicia (claimed to be based in Kuala Lumpur) in Facebook, Salome (claimed to be based in Kuala Lumpur Alabama) in Ripoff and Sammy Rot (claimed to be based in Singapore) in Youtube, and using our company's name, anjfurkids in pissedconsumer.com

If the complainer is real, he/she would have uses his/her real name instead of fake names

In regards of complainer's report, there are a few doubts that I would like to clarify with:

1) We provide each client with a detailed health guarantee which covers up to 21 days instead of 7 days as claimed and a file with detailed guidelines; (not tips) to take care of a puppy. I would appreciate if you could attach a copy of the detailed health guarantee here.

2) As you clearly mentioned that you noticed the puppy's stool is always soft on the first week and you thought it was ok, if you are a client...

You didnt seems to call us for assistance as well for advices because you thought it was ok to have soft stool for a young age puppy, for a long period of time of 7 days?

3 )So you only rushed her for medical attention because she has become very weak from having diarrhea and vomiting, and not the initial 7 days where she was having soft stool?

Isn't it an owner's responsibility to provide immediate medical attention to puppy when you noticed that she is not feeling well? Having soft stool for such long period of time is not a normal condition for a puppy.

4) If you are a client of mine, you didnt bother to give me a call to update me that the puppy is hospitalised, sick and weak from diarrhea and vomiting, even though after a week of medicine treatment, she was literally dying?

5) With numerous session of consultation with 3 different veterinarian, the first two vets could not diagnose her with parasites and coccidia? Please take note that coccidia flourish when the puppy is in state of stress.

6) Demodectic mange occurs when a dog's immune system is supressed and low. With proper maintenance and prevention treatment, it should be held under control.

By calling us an irresponsible pet shop, we have provided a well detailed heath guarantee for the puppy, and preparing the new owner with essential guidelines on taking care of the puppy as well as with our contact number attached while this particular owner; thought that it is ok for a young puppy to have soft stool for 7 days, failed to call us for advices or provide adequate medical care for the puppy when the puppy shouldn't be having soft stool for such long time. So who is irresponsible here?
